– The French LTER are a CNRS researchers network (CNRS : Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique / National Center for Scientific Research).
– The French LTER main role essentialy concerns environment protection, the evolution of this protection and its adaptation to a particular situation or territory.
– The French LTER are original devices started more than twenty years ago by the CNRS.
– Ten LTER are today approved by the CNRS (ZABR, ZAM, PIREN Seine, ZAL, ZAPVS, ZAPF, ZAA, ZATA, ZAEUS, ZAHWG), several other are very active and could postulate to the approvement.
