[Announcement] ZAL-OSUNA Meeting – 8th & 9th April

The ZAL organise with theOsuna from a meeting between researchers on the theme of Loire River continuumThe aim is to work towards bringing the two communities closer together around the Loire river and, more broadly, the issue of the land-sea continuum. The scientific stakes of this meeting are very important for the ZAL, and everyone's participation will be welcome, within the three disciplinary groups.SHS, Ecology, GeosciencesOur overall objective is, in the long term, to develop a research programme that unifies work on the Loire, its basin, its tributaries, its course, and its estuary. Following this initial meeting, we will organise a second session with Loire stakeholders/managers (late 2021/early 2022) in order to find common ground and establish partnerships/collaborations, particularly in connection with the future Loire Plan.
The meeting is scheduled to take place in Angers at the University's Belle-Beille campus. Travel expenses to Angers may be covered by the ZAL upon request. However, given the current circumstances, we may need to switch to a video conference.
This meeting will be structured around 3 themes on the general issue of material and contaminant flows (source/transfer/impact) along the Loire continuum:
– the common scientific, technological and societal challenges to be met
– the strengths and weaknesses of the Loire Valley research community for meeting these challenges
– the strategy that should be implemented to address these challenges
